A motion book trailer made for Bloomsbury Publishing promoting 'The Devil and the Dark Water' by Stuart Turton. The goal was to evoke the foreboding, suspenseful mood of the narrative through a dramatic and dark motion sequence. All illustrations were created on Adobe Photoshop and then animated on Adobe After Effects.

Inspiration was drawn from the Baroque art period of the 1600s for the visual palette, to correlate with the dramatic themes and storyline of the book. The animated glyphs and typeface choice were also inspired by the script writing from this time period.
